| As part of the arrangements made under the New Dimensions Programme, UKISAR (at the time known as the United Kingdom Fire Service Search and Rescue Team (UKFSSART) were tasked with providing an interim specialist resource to support individual Fire and Rescue Services at structural collapse incidents. The interim arrangements were set out in a letter from the Fire Service Inspectorate to all Chief Fire Officers in the UK. |

| The National Resilience Assurance Team as part of the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA) now oversee urban search and rescue (USAR) within the UK |

| A number of the FRSs that make up the UKISAR response also support USAR teams that provide cover for the UK under these arrangements |
