USAR MEDICAL TEAM

The Urban Search & Rescue Medical Team consists of experienced healthcare professionals (including doctors, nurses and paramedics) who deploy to provide medical support within the team and patients in the USAR environment. This can take place in hazardous environments such as those relating to confined space, collapsed structure, water rescue and steep slope access incidents.

The UMT team role is to care for UK ISAR team members in often austere environments, caring for individuals trapped in the rubble and other tasks as indicated and requested by the Local Emergency Management Authority (LEMA).
