Structural Engineer

As part of the drive for continual improvement, development and enhancement of the teams’ capabilities, UK ISAR now train and deploy with structural engineers and dangerous structures specialists.  This addition to the team provides the leadership team with an ability to conduct in theater assessments of vital infrastructure along with providing team leaders with expert advice and guidance which in turn assists in the development of search and rescue operations.  In conjunction with this they also support the specialist dog search teams by helping to assess access and egress strategies for both the handlers and the dogs.

UK ISAR’s engineers and dangerous structures experts are drawn from industry with each of them having their own field of expertise and specialism which in turn further enhances and enables the team’s overall ability to support the deployment/ exercise along with helping to support the ongoing humanitarian element that goes hand in hand with the initial search and rescue response.
