USAR MEDICAL TEAM

The Urban Search & Rescue Medical Team (UMT) is made up of highly experienced healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and paramedics. The team deploys to provide comprehensive medical support to both UK International Search and Rescue (UK ISAR) personnel and to people affected by sudden-onset disasters.

Operating in challenging and hazardous environments—such as confined spaces, collapsed structures, water rescues, and steep-slope incidents—the UMT delivers medical care in often austere and unpredictable conditions. Their responsibilities include caring for injured team members, treating individuals trapped in debris, and performing additional medical tasks as directed by the Local Emergency Management Authority (LEMA).
