In May, representatives from UK ISAR team proudly attended the prestigious Global Search & Rescue Excellence Awards — an event celebrating outstanding dedication and performance in emergency response around the world.

We are proud to announce that UK ISAR was named Team of the Year, a remarkable honour recognising our team’s professionalism, global impact, and tireless commitment to saving lives.

“We are pleased to honour the UK International Search and Rescue team as our Team of the Year. Their exceptional courage, skill, and unwavering dedication have made a profound global impact, saving countless lives across three major deployments this past year. Renowned for their rapid global deployment and life-saving urban search and rescue operations, their expertise and advanced technology are unmatched. Beyond rescue, their comprehensive medical aid and impactful capacity-building projects in regions like Malawi and Kenya have strengthened local resilience. Their steadfast commitment to humanitarian principles and their leading role within the UN INSARAG network, achieving the highest classification score, solidify their position as a world-leading team.”

Adding to the celebration, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) was named Supporter of the Year, recognising its vital role in sustaining the UK’s international emergency response capability.

This double recognition marks a proud moment for all involved — a true celebration of teamwork, dedication, and a shared mission to save lives across the globe.
